Earlier this week the SBA released
its latest program report and
awardee data.
But first, on September 29, 2021,
APAP supported the bipartisan bill to extend the timeline for using Small Business Administration (SBA) Shuttered Venue Operators Grants from the end of 2021 to spring of 2023. As the bill was blocked by Senate Small Business Committee Ranking Member Rand Paul (R-KY), we are awaiting a new opportunity for that bill to be reintroduced.
On Friday, October 8, 2021, the SBA reported that 3,993 Notices of Awards have gone out in the Supplemental round, out of 4,086 accepted invitations to date. Invitations are still in process. The SBA encountered a PPP calculation error which slowed progress. If you have experienced an error, you are advised to send an email describing the discrepancy along with screenshots to
svogrant@sba.gov with this subject line: "
Attn: SVOG High Level Review Team."
Regarding the initial round of funding, the SBA reported that fewer than 400 applications from the initial round of funding remain to be "decisioned", that Reconsiderations began going out in earnest last week, and Appeals will start in earnest this week. Post-Award Guidance is going into clearance tomorrow and they hope to issue that by the end of next week.
